Coach Tony’s boys split this weekend. They lost to Ice Vault Bandits 8 - 1 Saturday, but pulled off a victory over the Toms River Independent team 5 - 3.

Our win on Sunday was a true team win, goalie Aaron Zaentz had numerous saves in the 5 - 3 win for the Titans Bantam B Red. Scorers for the Titans were Patrick Carkeek (1 goal and 2 assists), Patrick Manfredi (1 goal), Joe Dicksinson (2 goals), Ben Cleaves (1 goal). Assists also went to Connor Hall (1 assist) and Kyle Clark (3 assists). As usual defense played a huge part in the win with Ryan Selby, Mike Holmes, and Jon Nelson. Billy Murphy and Julian Santos came through many times by stealing the pucks away from Toms River.

The Titan 95 A team came away from Silver Sticks with their heads held high. They did drop their playoff game Sunday to the Carolina team 4-1, but showed that they are good enough to play with some of the best teams in the East at the A level. A team in their bracket, the LI Edge won the whole 20 team tournament, and the Titans played with them the whole way.

Congratulations boys!

Saturday:

The Titans beat Brewster this afternoon at SilverSticks 3-2, and then dropped the nightcap 4-1 to the LI Edge.  This puts coach Haviland’s team in the 7th seed and into the quarter finals.  They play the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, the 2 seed in the morning on Sunday.  Go Titans!

The hockey season is getting started for the youngest Titans.  Mite players are getting their uniforms, and they begin play shortly.  We also have a large initiation program with the ice full of kids with sticks in their hands, most for the first time.  Coaches, we could use the help on Sunday mornings @9:15-1030.  Wrangling these 4-8 year olds is a rewarding time and sure to make you smile.

I hope you will come back often as we intend to use this as a club newsletter.
