The NJ Titans Bantam A Black team came away with a 6-1 win over the Grundy Senators, Saturday, October 6th in Bristol, PA. Chris Baker started off the 1st period at 12:28 with an unassisted goal from the point to put the Titans in a 1-0 lead. Shortly thereafter at 11:12, Pat Bruno, on an assist from Devin Corso, scored a power play goal to push the Titans to a 2-0 lead. In net, Cody Reilly, made excellent save on a breakaway shot by the Senators at 4:32. The Titans lead the period in shots on goal with 14-6.
The 2nd period started off with a penalty to Billy Regan at 13:55. Pat Bruno stepped up and scored a shorthanded goal at 13:48 to put the Titans in a 3-0 lead. Senators struggled to gain momentum, but with Reilly in net who performed at his best, they couldn’t get going. The Titans then grabbed another goal at 11:51 by an unassisted power play goal off the face off by Charlie Morton. With a 4-0 lead, the Titans couldn’t seem to get the puck out of their zone on 2 back to back power plays. Reilly worked hard in net with the Senators down 2 men. With the penalty kill over for the Senators, Pat Bruno scored his 2nd goal of the night on an assist from Billy Regan. That ended the 2nd period with a score of 5-0. Titans received a penalty by Joe Miller and that put the Senators on a power play for the start of the 3rd period.
The 3rd period opened up with a goal scored off the face off by the Senators to put them on the board. With the score at 5-1, the Titans killed several penalties with hats off to Reilly who helped to keep the Titans from giving up any goals. At 2:00 left in the 3rd period, the Titans answered back with a 2nd goal of the night by Charlie Morton to bring the final score to 6-1. In the end, the Senators out shot the Titans 29-25.
